Definitely the best cover of this song out there. I look forward to hearing this version more than any other.

Noooooooo, the Darlene Love one is the best. It reminds me of the opening credits of "Gremlins"

NO. NOT A TOP 12 HIT.
I've heard worse, but its nowhere near the best.
I can imagine the artists conference in June when his manager says
"We've got to lay down your Christmas track by the end of the month. Have you any ideas what you want to sing"
The Artist, sounding bored replies
"Not really interested yet. I suppose we could do that 'Baby please come home' thing that everyone else has done."

how dare you!!!!!!
the ORIGINAL ""PLEASE COME HOME FOR CHRISTMAS""
BY CHARLES BROWN--has been covered by those you mentioned plus Many many more and NONE BETTER or AS Good as the ORIGINAL by Charles Brown

MissAnn...I believe this is a different song because I've never heard it. But I love that one too by
Charles Brown. :)

It's all a matter of taste. Darlene Love, U2 and Cher are all great and very different making the song a classic and not the artists. There should be a list of all the artists who recorded each song like White Christmas, etc

OMG, you guys picked this as one of the best?! I HATE THIS SONG!!!! It's the absolute worst! What are you guys smoking? I never heard of most of these so-called "best" Christmas songs and the ones I have heard of don't rate. This one in particular is on my worst Christmas songs list. Don't believe me? No way - the Eagles' version rocks! Don Henley's voice is so plaintive and raw - I feel it every time.

Charles Brown, Darlene Love & The Eagles are much better versions than U2.
