Embarrassing Onstage Antics: No. 14
14. His Name Was Mud
At Woodstock '94, those incorrigible boys in Green Day took the fabled festival's legendary history of muddy conditions to the punk-rock extreme, starting an epic mud-fight with the audience. With the stage filled with muck-covered fans, bassist Mike Dirnt was mistaken for a trespasser by a security guard, who leveled the musician, knocking out several teeth.Posted by Spinner Staff on Dec 10th 2007 1:00PM

The woodstock will never be the same. People gave that name Woodstock a bad name for acting like they never ben to a party. Parties are usually fun not burning cars and being sistructive. People were more peaceful then and today they just dont get it when we say Peace that is what we mean. Sit,dance and listen to music and enjoy the bands.
To have a good time. It is sad they gave Woodstock a bad name. Sorry Woodstock. PEACE

If you were there in 1969, then surely you know that it was spelled Woodstock, not WoodStock and that it was a festival of music, drugs and STDs. I thank your generation for the extreme precautions and drugs my generation is required to use.
As for Woodstock '94, it was a misguided attempt to recapture the magic of the original soggy, drug-induced event. (How many of those musicians OD'd not too many years later?)
BTW, even the original was *supposeD* to make money, just as the sequel and the even worse sequel were.
One of my favorite moments of '94, though, is when Primus started "My Name is Mud". As soon as Les Claypool said the first line, people threw mud and he was NOT happy.

Bone Heads!
Sounds funny to start, but you need to hire security and body guards smart enough to know who the Artists are! I was only 13 when Woodstock happened. I would have ended up in reform school as a run-away had I hitched north from PA. You can never re-create or recapture events of that magnitude.
