Recently, Green Day confirmed that they are heading back to the studio to record the follow-up to their mega-successful rock opera, 'American Idiot' -- an album that not only won Billie Joe and the boys the Grammy for Best Rock Album in 2005, but also was their first to reach No. 1 in the United States. Clearly, those are some big Doc Martins to fill. But it seems that the Oakland punks aren't stopping there.Rumors suggest that the trio have released six songs for free download under the name Foxboro Hot Tubs, which sound a lot like the '60s and a much sunnier, more optimistic version of the rock trio.
While we await confirmation that those are Tre Cool's frantic drums on Tubs, the original Green Day can look forward to the Grammys in February, where they have a shot at taking home the Best Rock Performance by a Duo or Group With Vocals for their cover of John Lennon's 'Working Class Hero.' That track was included on Warner Bros.' philanthropic release, 'Instant Karma: The Amnesty International Campaign to Save Darfur.'
Relive the 'Dookie' Days with Greenday's performance of 'Longview.'
