Stephen Stills Diagnosed With Prostate Cancer
- Posted on Dec 19th 2007 1:00PM by Nadine Cheung
Stephen Stills has been diagnosed with prostate cancer, according to Crosby, Stills and Nash bandmate Graham Nash. In a telephone interview with the 'Larry King Live' show on Monday, Nash said Stills is scheduled to undergo an operation on January 3, which is also his 63rd birthday. The announcement was made just one day after Dan Fogelberg passed away from the disease. "Unlike Danny (Fogelberg), who left it too long to be seriously checked, Stephen found his at an early stage," Nash told King.
There has been no formal comment from Stills' management team.

I watched CSN perform at Ironstone Amphetiater last week. They were fantastic and Stephen Stills plays a mean f ing guitar. Stephen, you are my hero. Be well and I will see you a third time.
Mark in Merced, CA.
Graham must be getting desperate in his old age. Stephen Stills had requested that his medical condition remain private. Graham couldn't resist trashing an old friend just to get his voice heard on Larry King Live. Very sad, Graham. Pathetic. No class man. Is this how you wanted to be remembered? I would be surprised to see them on stage together again.

One of my favorite cats from the days, I wish you well and hope you're back playing soon. PEACE!!!!!

I was immediately hooked and have followed your career ever since. Your remarkable body of work continues to be a huge influence on me as a casual musician and as a human being. The way you fashion a lyric, the way you sing, the way you play guitar, the ways you have contributed to so many generations all create one of the most amazing talents of all time. You are a National Treasure. There's still plenty of work to be done. So, listen to your Doctors and get well because I want to see and hear the "Virtual Beachboy Singing Country Blues" for a long time to come.

Some aren't so lucky. With Dan Fogelberg passing and witnessing the death of my father-in-law from advanced prostate cancer - the best I can say to all men is be tested early and often. Good luck to Stephen! Again, as a professional speaker, http://www.chuckgallagher.com - had I not found out early (quite by accident) I would now be facing the fate of the late Dan Fogelberg. Do not let a simple blood test stand in the way of your health.
