Umphrey's McGee Get 'Brain Damaged' in Jamaica

After four days of American fun in the Jamaican sun, the inaugural Caribbean Holidaze came to a grand finale via a late-night spectacle led by members of Umphrey's McGee and the Disco Biscuits. The event, dubbed 'Brain Damaged Eggmen,' consisted entirely of Beatles and Pink Floyd interpretations, including an entire section of the album 'Abbey Road' and an absolutely epic, extended version of 'Comfortably Numb.' Caribbean Holidaze is a super-premium destination festival held on two adjacent resorts in Jamaica, and in a nod to the island's musical heritage, Pink Floyd's 'Speak to Me/Breathe' was performed in the style of dub, a la the Easy Star All-Stars' 'Dub Side of the Moon' album. During the encore, all the musicians who performed during the festival were invited onstage for a sing-a-long to the Beatles' 'Hey Jude.' Despite the fact that members of American rock bands were covering English rock bands for a largely American audience, shouts of "Yah, mon!" were ubiquitous throughout the crowd. So were bathing suits and sandals. The whole thing was, in a word, surreal. Just like the Beatles and Pink Floyd would've wanted it to be, we'd assume.

Sounds great - which resorts in Jamacia was it? Montego Bay, Ocho Rios or Negril perhaps? I would have loved to witness such a show!
