'Falling Slowly,' Glen Hansard and Marketa Irglova

Sometimes the simplest of melodies can have the strongest impact. Such is the case for this gorgeous duet from Irishman Glen Hansard, frontman of the Frames, and Czech singer-pianist Marketa Irglova. The two were captured singing the ballad onscreen during a pivotal scene in 'Once' -- this year's "little movie that could." But you don't need to see the film to witness the undeniable chemistry between them -- their harmonies speak for themselves.

this is honestyly a pathetic list....my gosh i thought the 2008 was bad, but this takes the cake; kanye and rihanna are the only ones that should be on there, get those other imposters off their!!

i went through this with a bit of an, oh, okay. That's an okay song, that's not so great, but nothing that really popped out to me as "WOAH GREAT SONG"

and then I hit this--the last one. I love that this somehow was rated top, it's so understated and lovely and sweet. :)

If you like this song, you should check out The Frames. A bad that are only popular here in Ireland. So Amazing Live that the CDs donot compare - I reccomend the live album 'Set List'

Paul McCartney (no matter how annoying he gets as he gets older) is still one of the greatest musicians ever, and he's being put on a list with friggin Kanye West? Oh and by the way, where's She Builds Quick Machines by Velvet Revolver? Easily the best song (or at least single, 'cause theres alot of good stuff on Libertad) of the year.
