'Pounding,' Doves
From 2002's 'The Last Broadcast'

I first heard this band in the UK about 10 years ago. I remember liking them quite a bit, but because I live in the U.S. (where they aren't as well known), I kind of fell out of the loop with them. About four years ago, a roommate of mine re-introduced me to the Doves. 'Pounding' was the first song he played for me. This song puts me in the best mood and their melodies are insane. Everyone I've played it for becomes an instant Doves fan. 'Nuff said.

Ryan Tedder is the frontman for Colorado rockers OneRepublic, who rose to prominence with their hit collaborative single with Timbaland, 'Apologize.' The band's debut album, 'Dreaming Out Loud,' is in stores now.
