The Police Reunion Tour Tops 2007's Best-Grossing Live Acts

In a landscape of ever-slumping record sales, the truth is that overall interest actually hasn't dwindled much this year when it came to live performance. Millions of music lovers shelled out premium prices to see their their favorite artists in action. The highly anticipated reunion of the Police was the highlight of the year, earning $131.9 million, nearly doubling Kenny Chesney's take, who is next in line at $71.1 million. The legendary British trio's reunion tour moved more than 1 million tickets in 2007. The Police's average ticket price was $114.32, while Celine Dion's and Barry Manilow's prices of admission soared above $140.

This year saw high-grossing tours for rock veterans such as Bruce Springsteen, as well as the re-formation of rock behemoths Van Halen and Genesis.
