Matthew Herbert 'Declares Independence' With Bjork

Acclaimed British electronic wiz Matthew Herbert has once again crossed sonic paths with Björk. This time Herbert reinterprets 'Declare Independence,' the third single off this year's 'Volta,' with hissing synths and AFX-like, tweaked-out thumps. Riffing off of co-producer Mark Bell's original creation of the track, Herbert preserves the essence and urgency of 'Independence,' but intensifies its eeriness with haunting vocal samples and a crunchy industrial undertone.
Herbert is no stranger to Björk's work, having programmed three tracks on the Icelandic queen's 2001 'Vespertine' album. Have a listen to Herbert's rework and see the 'Declare Independence' 12" single tracklisting after the jump.
