Dave Davies Shoots Down Kinks Reunion

Last month, Ray Davies told the UK's Daily Mail that the original members of the Kinks would reunite after nearly 40 years. Davies' brother, Dave, suffered a stroke in 2004, but the lead singer insisted the group would play together again. "I think Dave's getting better and Mick's still playing," he said. "It would be great to get back together just to see what musical ideas we had and what would happen."

However, Dave Davies feels differently, to say the least. "It would be like a poor remake of 'Night of the Living Dead,'" Dave said of the reunion in a November post on his website. "Ray has been doing Karaoke Kinks shows since 1996."

Davies further encouraged sibling rivalry when challenged Ray's songwriting skills. "I wrote a song called 'Where Pigs Fly,' Ray wrote ten songs out of it," Dave wrote. "One of them was 'Hatred,' one was 'Lola' and the other eight were 'You Really Got Me.'"

Ray and Dave Davies should at least meet to discuss reforming the Kinks. Perhaps they will find a middle ground which will allow them to record together again and then tour.

Ray and Dave are talking and communicating nothing more going on right now. Ray is finishing up with his London Musical Come Dancing which closes tonight, then prepares for a 3 week USA tour starting inTampa Florida on November 28th and finishes up in Asbury Park, New Jersey on December 13th. Dave is working on a new movie " Mystical Journey " soon to be released and may be doing somelive solo shows once again next year but nothing is confirmed about that. God save the KinKs, Ray and Dave no matter what they do seperate or together, they have never disappointed me. - Frank Lima, A Montvale, New Jersey Hillbilly Boy aka Dan the Fan

This seems so ridiculous. One of the greatest rock bands of all time, one which has brought so much joy and magic to so many human beings, would choose to scrooge us all out of the experience just for the sake of saying bah humbug to their brother! This is so much bigger than any of you. Who gives a fuck if you're old, you'll still have a bigger turn out than any jack-me-off 20-something band starting out today.
You are of the greatest, your fans want this. Not crappy tabloid bickering.
