Singer Seeks Solace in Sharks and Canadian Rockers

We're not exactly sure what right-thinking rehab center would stock 'Hammer of the Gods' on its library shelves, but apparently one of the clinics recently frequented by Amy Winehouse did just that -- inspiring the distressed singer to seek solace in the realm of sharks on her road to recovery. Winehouse hasn't employed the critters in quite the same way legend would have it that Jimmy Page and company did, but she has allegedly been spending her fair share of time swimming amongst them while unwinding at a Caribbean villa owned by Bryan Adams -- giving us nightmares about a movie-theme duet sometime down the road.

According to a British tabloid report, Ms. Winehouse decided to get in touch with her inner Richard Dreyfuss in an effort to "get high on life" -- something we'd have thought she'd have a doctorate in by now. She's quoted as saying the snorkeling-with-sharks experience has taught her "to appreciate simple things, like the beauty of nature, and it's taught me to face my fears." We'd imagine waking up to the strains of 'Everything I Do, I Do It For You' has helped that latter effort along as well.

U guys are 2 funny. What balderdash... I am a rock of 4 decades luvR. I liked her music till I saw her photo and read about her history. Loose cannon. She and Annie Lennox could get married. ps.. Snorkeling in Caribbean...common to have exposure to sharks, barracudas, eels, octopus, really anything. Largest aquarium.. She is not really seeking solace in an intimidating environment unless she cuts herself and bleeds/has another tatoo inscribed while under water...

You know......She is obviously a complete mess, but if she is doing
something, like getting away from the "lime-light" for a while that
might help her in some way, or help her straighten out her life, then
why not give some support for her instead of the stupid comments like
"the shark would get high if it bit her". COME ON PEOPLE! How about
some compassion for a change and give the girl a break. I know it's
easy to make fun of her, but let's give the girl a chance. I imagine
it's not very easy living your life with those cameras stuffed up
your as# all the time. The girl has the disease of addiction plus
probably a duel diagnosis to go with that so lets give her some
support instead of the childish remarks on here. Save those for when
you are around your other immature friends. I am an alcoholic, and it
really does a number on you if you are one of the lucky ones who even
makes it to recovery in one piece or even alive. It's a disease, yes,
I said a disease. If she had cancer along with her current problems,
would you be making fun of her still? Actually you probably would.
You could see in the picture where she was walking the street in her
bra, the sheer desperation on her face, so lighten up folks, please?
Why do people have to be so mean. I think it's ridiculous what we do
to popular people in this country. Of course, I realize these people
chose to be famous, and know it is a part of it, but damn, the pap's
with all the cameras have just gone way too far and have no right to
invade people's privacy ike they do.Maybe a shot if they see a sat
shopping or walking the street, but hiding in trees, or chasing them
in their car? MY GOD! I saw when lovely ole' Bittany was being taken
to the hospital that people were almost getting run over by the
ambulance just by running along side the ambulance and holding up
their camera to the window just to get a picture. Do you really want
to see her in an ambulance? Who really gives a rat's as*? I have see
enough of her lately, and wish her the best but am quite sick of
anything to do with her at this time. The biggest laugh for me is her
mom writing a book on being a "good parent". That not only takes the
cake, but it eats it to. I guess poor Lynn will have to bum some of
that $730,000 that Brittney gets every month. While I am sick of
"Brit-tales", I also wish her a healthy recovery because even if you
don't like her, she can put on a good show when at her best. I don't
think many of us could perform like she did in her TV special (a
couple years ago, pre-neglected kids). Her last performance was
rather pitiful I know, but she still is a talented person, despite
all her flaws, and there are plenty of them right now, don't ya
think? I just want sick people to get better, that's all. Sawwy fur
eny wong spailin or graymur missteaks. I iz in a hery.

What she really needs to read is "The Hammer of God," by Bo Giertz. Put aside all that other garbage. The book I'm recommending is by a Lutheran bishop; it's a series of great short stories about a single town.

If she will learn that great head article of the Gospel, that will be a start. These girls were taught pop, megachurch type religion--which isn't real Christianity or real Protestantism. Let them learn what Jesus really did for them, and let them understand that they can't do it themselves. That will be the first step to the two of them straightening out their lives.

I heard some of the sharks DID bite her...and she didn't notice. The local marine biologists found out because they started finding sharks that were going through withdrwal symtoms.
