Lily Allen Suffers Miscarriage
- Posted on Jan 17th 2008 7:40PM by Melissa Olund
The 22-year-old singer is "in a state of shock" after losing her baby. Allen had just returned from a vacation in the Maldives with her partner, musician Ed Simons of the Chemical Brothers.Allen's representative told The Sun, "We can confirm that Lily Allen has suffered a miscarriage. She and her partner Ed Simons will be making no further comment and we ask that their privacy be respected during this difficult time."
Her debut album, 'Alright, Still,' is nominated for a Grammy. She is expected to release its follow-up later this year.

Why is this anyone's business to begin with? This is a personal matter between her and her boyfriend. So, she's not married and got pregnant. How often does it happen anyway? As someone who has had a miscarriage before, it is tragic and heartbreaking. Give them a bit of privacy no matter what you feel is right or wrong.

I am both saddened by her very private loss and the manner in which ignorant people are judging two adults who are suffering at this time. Take your traditional "values" to heart and consider how compassionate higher thinkers (like oh, Jesus or Ghandi for example)might view your judgmental comments. (While you're at it, why don't you ask for forgiveness)...

You want to tell everyone under what circumstances it is preferable to you she concieves? Empathy is healthy, sympathy is a wasted emotion. How about crying for the homeless, starving or aborted in the second or third trimester (because someone changes their mind)? Boy - you guys need to volunteer for a shelter or something and emote about something that will do some good. You seem like decent people with WAY too much time on your hands.

January 20 2008 at 9:11 PM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyHere's my question--everyone is sympathizing with the loss of Lily Allen's baby--as well they should. Why then do we as a society favor abortion? Why is a miscarriage a tragedy, but an abortion a remedy? The end result is the same--a dead baby! Or do women have magical powers where if the want the baby--KAZAMM! It's a baby. But if they don't want the baby--KAZAM! It's a blob of tissue. Either it's a baby, or it isn't. You can't have it both ways. If you consider a miscarriage a tragedy, then you should also consider abortion to be murder--which it is!
January 20 2008 at 3:03 PM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyWow, some people are retarded. It really is no one's concern as to how she leads her life, especially because she was going to keep and take good care of the baby. We are in no position to judge her, or anyone elses lifestyle choice, so if you're gonna be an ass****, don't comment. Oh, and btw LiL mIsS tHaNg, you weren't agreeing with "several people" you were agreeing with only one other ass****, go ahead, recount the comments. Only one other person felt that way.

Since when does being married make you a good parent?
