    Lily Allen Suffers Miscarriage

The 22-year-old singer is "in a state of shock" after losing her baby. Allen had just returned from a vacation in the Maldives with her partner, musician Ed Simons of the Chemical Brothers.

Allen's representative told The Sun, "We can confirm that Lily Allen has suffered a miscarriage. She and her partner Ed Simons will be making no further comment and we ask that their privacy be respected during this difficult time."

Her debut album, 'Alright, Still,' is nominated for a Grammy. She is expected to release its follow-up later this year.

:( I feel bad for her. I think mostly cause I kind of think she is a little mean. I mean lets face facts she makes it seem like all men are awful people.

I'm sorry for her, but she should not be having sexual relations with a "partner" in the first place. It's wrong.

My condolances to Lily at this difficult time for her..I've been there and I know that pain too well. I do, however, also agree with # 3 aerospacemajor.

I love how people around this board can say "I'm truly sorry for your loss" and in the very same sentence judge her because she has a 'partner.'

Having gone through this myself I know how shocking and horribly sad losing a pregnancy is. I don't know how far she was but this is why most women don't make an announcement until they are out of the first trimester.

And what's wrong with having a partner? That's just what the British call a serious boyfriend/girlfriend. What did that other poster think it meant? He was standing by her and they were both happy about the pregnancy. Can't complain about that.

I have to agree with several people.. she should not have been having sex with a "partner" I am a strong believer in getting married,or at least engaged before sex. Also,I feel bad for her though, because she still wanted the baby, and I think she could have provided a good life for it. She seems like she would've tamed down with a child. and a misscarriage is hard on anyone, even for someone who DOesnt want the baby.

I saw an interview where she wanted happy over the fact she was pregnant. Do we really know if it was a miscarriage or some thing else. I guess we will never know.

Anytime anyone loses a baby, it is tragic... don't make this about how the mom choses to live her life or what kind of person you THINK she is. A baby has died. Show some respect!!! I am very sorry for her loss and for any of the other posters who have lost children!!!

Not sure if first comment registered. I saw an interview where she was not happy over being pregnant. I had some idea a story like this might pop up eventually. She said she wasn't ready to have kids yet. Was it a miscarriage or the other thing? I guess we will never know since it happened in some foreign country.

We all know what century it is. However, we still have only one Bible and one God. Sex outside of marriage is still wrong. It is no justification to say "everyone is doing it". First of all Not everyone is doing it and Second if everyone decided to kill themselves would you join in? Not likely.

And believe it or not a person can be empathetic and feel sorry for the loss of an unborn child and still recognize that she was amoral.

Afer suffering 2 miscarriages last year (1 earlier in 2007 and last almost 2 months ago), I know the pain she's feeling. I'm not a fan of her music nor do I care for her as an Artist, but I feel her pain. If she is in shock as the say she, I know her pain all too well.
