Usher's Father Dies + More

- Usher's father, Usher Raymond III, died in an Atlanta hospital on Friday. The cause of death is currently unknown.
- Actress Cate Blanchett was nominated for the Best Supporting Actress Oscar for her performance as one of six Bob Dylan portrayals in the Todd Haynes-directed, 'I'm Not There.' The Oscars are currently scheduled to be handed out on February 24, pending the ongoing writers strike.
- Universal Republic, Amy Winehouse's record label, released a statement on Tuesday, in response to the recently revealed photos and video of the embattled singer's alleged drug use, saying: "We are deeply disappointed and upset by these latest revelations and are doing everything we can to offer Amy our full support in dealing with her problems."
- Legendary singer-songwriter Leonard Cohen will return to the road later this year after a 15-year hiatus. The soon-to-be-Rock & Roll Hall of Famer's tour details will be revealed in February.
- Blind Melon will release their first album in more than a decade, titled 'For My Friends,' on April 22. Travis Warren will serve as the replacement for late frontman Shannon Hoon, who died in 1995. A tour behind the effort is set to kick off in late February.
- The Stars will kick off a U.S. tour in support of their latest album, 'In Our Bedroom After the War,' on March 19 in Baltimore. The jaunt is set to wrap on April 1 in Buffalo, New York.
