'Caroline No'
--The Beach Boys (1966)
Hair can be such a bummer. When Caroline cuts off her beautiful long tresses, her boyfriend agonizes that she'll never be the same again. Inspired by a real-life girlfriend of Tony Asher, Brian Wilson's writing partner on 'Pet Sounds,' the album it closes, the song was initially called 'Carol, I Know,' but Wilson misheard the phrase.

Wrong! The song was about a former love interest of Mr Wilson, named Carol Mountain. Read any bio and it will tell you so.

WOAH!!! That's so ironic! MY name is Caroline, and I just cut off my long hair. My short hair looks SO much better, though.

James Blunt sings to Anne to go down on him. Mischa Barton snubbed him and Anne is her middle name.???

If you really listen to the song it isn't just about her cutting her hair. The song while not specific about it says that she made other changes also. While change is inevitable some changes in a person are not for the better.
