Potent Quotables: Le Bon Lets Loose

"We shared a few chicks, that's for sure." -- Simon Le Bon

Buses aren't the only things that band members ... ugh, inhabit together on tour. The Duran Duran singer treated Q Magazine to tales of the band's more debauched days for its February issue.

in this day of so much garbage that they have the guts to say is music, i'm talking about ghetto criminal hip-hop crap IN PARTICULAR, it reminds me to look back and appreciate even more the immense contribution of groups such as duran duran, etc. in modern, (meaning post 60's- 70's), music...they might not be everybodies cup of tea, granted, but at least they played good "MUSIC" and wrote extremely well crafted "SONGS"...

Back in the mid eighties my wife slept with the keyboard player, I divorced her shortly after. I got everything, "hope it was worth it"!

This is my favorite band from the 80's and yes they admit to being wild back then with women they are not gay. They have settled down now and have kids. Look at how old they were when they started , now there in there 40's. He was being honest about his younger days. While i don't agree with any of the sex and sharing women. We were all stupid and thought we knew it all when we were younger.

I'm sure Yasmin is well aware of the type of man that she married. Also, I'll bet most of what he is referring to happened during the height of DD fame, way before he got married and settled down anyway.

Besides, this isn't exactly surprising news. Other bands most likely have shared groupies as well!

    um... PAM...
If you're going to be a bigot, you might want to look into giving people as few reasons to criticize you as possible. The fact that you can't even properly spell the words that represent the concept about which you are so incensed just makes those of us who are actually educated laugh at you even harder.

(um-ok... @ the bitter & bigoted = someone must've forgotten to take their meds) I completely concur with Mark's comment comparing a lot of today's "music" to that of previous decades when actual talent, creativity, originality (something severely lacking in today's top 40) & song craft still mattered. Now it is whatever formula works best marketed directly to the kids to move the most units.

I tend to gravitate towards retro throwback acts such as Amy Winehouse, Franz Ferdinand and Goldfrapp - DD, Bowie, Blondie and the 80's Eff'n rocked! so, "n'ya, n'ya, n'ya!" (uttered Taffy Davenport)

What he's talking about happened way back when, try the early to mid 80's. He married Yasmin in December 1995 and persued her! Clearly he was over the "sharing of chicks" then as they're happily married with 3 beautiful daughters, Amber, Saffron and Tallulah. And Yasmin is as beautiful as ever too! Rock on Simon and the rest of Duran Duran. You were awsome at your May 10th show in Vegas. LOVED IT. I hail from Sutton Coldfield, England. DD is #1.
