On This Date in 1969: The Beatles perform for the final time in public as a group. They play 'Get Back' and several other songs on the rooftop of their Apple Records headquarters in London before being shut down by the police. The Almanac Advises for January 30: "If a neighbor is holding an outdoor party, it is his responsibility to keep noise levels to a reasonable level. While it is totally within your right to call the police if the music or crowd gets too loud, it would be more neighborly to take this action as a last resort. First try placing a call to the offending neighbor if the noise becomes overwhelming."

Allow me to say this as a European from Greece's rock city,Thessaloniki:In which serious country would neighbours ever think of complaining to Police for the "noise"- as they said- coming from the roof-top of Apple Records,London, that day in 1968, when the greatest ever musical foursome was giving its last legendary performance?!!Anyone would be the luckiest person to witness such a historical moment!Sometimes I think the Beatles would deserve and fit better being felolow-countrymen of another nation, not the British.
