Matt Costa Gets 'Familiar' With the Interface

Matt Costa should not fear the sophomore slump. Filled with introspective, radio-friendly tracks, his 2006 debut album, 'Songs We Sing,' is certainly a tough act to follow. But his second effort, 'Unfamiliar Faces,' which hit stores last week, does not disappoint. Like Costa's first CD, it's filled with songs that showcase his masterful guitar playing with lyrics that show this songwriter definitely wears his heart on his sleeve.

Costa stopped by our Interface studio to perform four brand-new songs from 'Unfamiliar Faces': the catchy 'Cigarette Eyes,' folksy 'Miss Magnolia,' heartfelt ballad 'Never Looking Back' and the album's first single, 'Mr. Pitiful.' We also talked to him about the unique approach he took to writing for the new album and the one song he wishes he'd written.
