On This Date in 1983: Karen Carpenter, lead singer of '70s brother-sister pop duo the Carpenters, dies from cardiac arrest brought upon by her anorexia.The Almanac Advises for February 4: "Dietitians recommend several steps to good nutrition, including adherence to the "food pyramid," which is geared to help all different kinds of people eat more sensibly. By finding and maintaining an eating plan that is right for you, coupled with getting plenty of exercise, you increase your chances of living a long and healthy life."
