- Jay-Z and Mary J. Blige will share a stage when they kick off the 'Heart of the City' tour beginning March 22 in Miami. With only 10 dates confirmed, the pair are set to play 26 shows across the country in support of their latest releases. "The [songs] we're playing are the soundtracks to people's lives," Jay-Z said in a statement. "We've poured our hearts out many a night in the studio and look forward to going one step further on stage."
- R.E.M., Ice Cube, My Morning Jacket, N.E.R.D., Richard Hawley and Shelby Lynne are among the artists slated to play at this year's South by Southwest Music Festival. The event runs March 12-16 in Austin, Texas.
- Cher will launch a residency at Las Vegas' Colosseum at Caesars Palace beginning May 6. The deal finds the singer playing around 200 shows over the course of three years. "I started in Vegas at Caesars, so I've come full circle," Cher said in a statement. "I'm back and I plan to give my fans the best experience yet. I think everybody knows I only do things in a big way."
