Scott Weiland Goes to Rehab
- Posted on Feb 8th 2008 12:00PM by Beville Darden
Velvet Revolver frontman Scott Weiland has voluntarily entered a rehab facility, according to a statement released Friday from the band. Weiland has a long history of drug and alcohol abuse, including a notorious heroin addiction that nearly destroyed his career. He cleaned up his act about three years ago but was caught driving under the influence back in November.Velvet Revolver has canceled a show in San Diego tonight, and may have to postpone their Australian tour, which is scheduled to start next week. No word yet on whether Weiland's rehab jaunt will also affect the much-hyped reunion of his former band, Stone Temple Pilots, rumored to take place this summer.

You think all the brilliant talented people drugs have ruined or killed were weak minded?...drugs are all powerful. Nobody quits drugs. They lie if they say they have. Recovery is forever.

I hope he gets better and comes back again and again. Just recently seen him in concert and they rock. He will ALWAYS be sexy to me!!!

This gent is extremely talented. Love his singing, and bad-ass style.
I'm just glad he's got the sense to clean the bitch out of his blood before it totally wrecks him, because it will.
It was horrible watching Jerry Garcia enter what seemed to be this awful cloud back in the 70's, that he never really got out of. Oh, he was ALWAYS great, but if you followed him in the 60's like I did when I was a kid, you knew him to have this incredible energy that manifested itself in powerful righteous wisdom, in no-nonsense straight-at-ya things he said, things he did, his guitar playing in general. "Live Dead" is one of the most incredible works of Rock art history. His playing is unbelievably on, as is the whole band. No one else has ever come close to what these guys pulled off on that record.
Heroin ended up killin' him, like a lot of other greats. I hate that bitch. She aint worth it.
Glad I never tried it.
Clean up, Scott. We love ya, man.
