Legendary singer-songwriter Emmylou Harris is among the newest inductees into the Country Music Hall of Fame. Harris started her career in folk music but has found success in a number of genres, including rock, alternative, pop, gospel and bluegrass. But it was with country music where she found her identity."It's the music that gave me my true voice," said Harris at a press conference announcing her induction.
Tom T. Hall, the Statler Brothers and the late country-bluegrass pioneer Ernest "Pop" Stoneman will also be inducted to the Hall of Fame this year. This is the first year that the honors will not be given during the Country Music Association Awards broadcast. Instead, there will be a separate induction ceremony on April 27.

I LOVE Emmylou Harris. I have since I was a little girl. My family has always been huge fans of country music. Emmylou Harris was one of many favorites. Another favorite and Hall of Famer is Faron Young. What a great and tragic story. I just finished a wonderful book called "Live Fast, Love Hard" by Diane Diekman. It's the most complete story Faron Youg I've ever read. You HAVE to read this. Diane Diekman is a fantastic writer. She's also has a great book about Marty Robbins.
Congratulations Emmylou! I'm so excited you've have been inducted.

So glad the academy finally got their head out of their @## and gave her the recognition she's been due for a long time.
Does anyone know if the April 27 induction was broadcast?
