The B-52's are back with an updated take on their quirky New Wave sound on their first new recording in sixteen years, called 'Funplex.'

The tune is featured on the band's forthcoming album of the same name, due March 25. Spinner will have an exclusive early listening party for 'Funplex' beginning March 18. Until then, take a listen to the album's first single and stay tuned for the B-52's upcoming '08 tour.

The B-52's can rome back to the top of the charts
if they want to, but face it, Love Shack is still
their greatest hit. I miss the 1980's so much, I
plan on putting together a 2-hour 1980's Monster
Mix on YouTube, if they allow me to go past the
10-minute mark. 10 minutes on YouTube just isn't
enough to even half-cover all of the 80's hits,
so I hope they lift that time limit very soon.

HELLO?! The B-52's are so not 80's. Love Shack was a hit in late summer/early fall of 89, and then Roam was popular in 90. Then the other stuff they did was early 90's as well. I cannot BELIEVE some people! You want a male/female act that totally defined the 80's? HUMAN LEAGUE!!!!

B-52s not an 80s band? These LPs were released prior to 1990: The B52s, Wild Planet, Party Mix, Mesopotamia, Whammy, Bouncing Off The Satellites, Cosmic Thing.

Love Shack and Roam may have big hits in the early 90s but to many fans, Planet Claire, Rock Lobster, Private Idaho, Quiche Lorraine, just about every cut on Whammy, etc. - these are the songs that come to mind when we think about the B-52s.

OMG I heard Love Shack just the other day as I was taking a precarious 2-hour ride (usual is 30 minutes) from work, and it made me feel so much better. So glad they're coming out with a new album.

Some question they were more '90s than '80s but they can't seem to remember the music befor love shack and Roam...I.e. Rock Lobster, Planet Clair, Private Idaho, 52 Miles west of Venus to name a few that were absolutely '80s. I cant wait to see them in concert again!

You cannot say the B's are not the 80's, unless you only know them from "Cosmic". Try "Rock Lobster" ('78), "Private Idaho" ('80), "Mesopotamia ('82), and so much more. The b's were most def '80's! I cannot believe some people!

#12, they've had more songs than love shack and roam from their earlier days. love shack & roam are just better known by the younger crowd. in case you didn't know, they started out in the mid 70's

I had the great fortune to see the B-52's in concert--not long ago--and God, they were soooo good, they had young kids dancing like crazy. Their opening song was awesome (Planet Claire, I didn't even know that song then), and the Schneider guy has such a great personality. Added bonus: I've always had the hots for Kate Pierson.
