Best Band Logos: No. 10

Van Halen

As iconic as the California rockers' logo is, they changed its wings from straight to curvy to announce the arrival of Sammy Hagar and the departure of David Lee Roth. They must have been inspired by their singers' hair.

The original logo was better, just like how VH were better with David Lee Roth

No matter what the logo is... It's always about the music.

I would like to know how many of you are sick of AOL taking you to ten different sites and ninteen pages to see the headline you got on your home news page! All I wanted to see was what changes Van Halen made to their logo...JUST like the article specified...to know it I had to go through 11 other bands....They NEVER go straight to what the issue is...sometimnes having to go through 10 website clicks to get the "info" they are showing you. If I wanted to spend 10 min looking at these I would have gone to the band sites! Geeze!

This is not an original logo boys and girls. This was stolen, borrowed whatever you want to call it from Jimi Hendrix! Check for yourself!

I too am tired of going through several pages, just to see the specific story that was advertised/mentioned, on the AOL home page...
as for the logo, the ORIGINAL (Van Halen)was better!

Original VH ? your kidding where was Mikey? With Sammy!!!! There's a man who made and still makes it about the music and the fans. How many other rockers have a bar and do free shows on thier B-Days. Sammy does so much for his fans!!!! Sammy's the man and always will be. Much better preformer than Dave, the Dave years were good but I think Sammy is better!!!!!!

Let's not forget what Gary Cherone did for the band. Yeah, he wasn't the most popular lead for VH, but he has a great voice and "Without You" is still a great song!

Dave go to a Sammy board and suck up. Michael Anthony made his fame and fortune, had a better relationship with Sammy and made some freakin incredible BBQ sauce, go buy some. Its the closest youll get and Wolfgang VH did a supreme job filling those shoes in concert. Wolfie McLovin GOOD JOB and Michael Anthony we DO miss you.

WE ALL AGREE VAN HALAN WAS THE BADEST KICK ASS BAND IN THE 80'S. LIKE EVERYONE ELSE, I HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR THE ORGINAL BAND TO GET TO TOGATHER. SAMMY WAS GOOD AND THEY MADE ALOT OF GOOD SONGS BUT IT DIDN'T HAVE THEY KICK ASS MUSIC W/O DIAMOND DAVE. I DIDN'T LISTEN TO VH WHEN THEY HAD GARY BUT IF YOU NOTICE THEY ALBUM SALES SUCKED WITH THAT GUY WHICH VH SAW THATS WHY THEY CUT HIM LOSE. I SAW THEM IN DALLAS AND PAY $150 AND ENJOYED. EVERYONE STAND UP THRU THE ENTIRE CONCERT. WOLFGANG WAS OK, BUT I THINK THE FANS WOULD OF BEEN FINE WHOMEVER WAS PLAYING BASS BUT WE MISS MICHAEL. THOSE OF YOU WHO WENT TO THE CONCERT NOTICES THAT WOLF DID NOT PLAY ANY SOLO BY HIMSELF LIKE MICHAEL WOULD. BUT I KNOW HE'S STILL YOUNG. I'M GLAD I WAS ABLE TO SEE ORG VH AND I'M 41 Y/O. WOLF IS HAVING THE BEST TIME OF HIS LIFE TOURING WITH HIS DAD AND THE REST OF THE BAND. IT WAS FINALLY NICE TO HEAR ORGINAL VH ONE MORE TIME. HOPEFULLY THEY TOUR AGAIN WITH MICHAEL BEFORE ANYBODY IN THE GROUP GETS ILL THAT THEY CANNOT PLAY OR SING ANYMORE. VH FOREVER.

Sammy didnt deserve any changes made to the VH Logo.He barley deserved to be in the band at all.
Long live the Dave era.The REAL VAN HALEN.And any true halen fan knows this to be the truth.

First of all, Sammy kicked ass just as well as Dave. It may not of been Van Halen, but it still kicked ass.

The original Van Halen is THE BEST. Now you young kids out there don't know any better. Yoo bad. I got to live through the glory years! The original logo is great. It used to swing down from the top of the stage, behind it, a tower of blaring amps. True, I'd rather see Michael Anthony with the current band. But I'll see Van Halen again Friday! Oh yea, Sammy's great, but he's just not Van Halen.

Original Van Halen logo and band rocks more than most of you will ever know. I grew up with the band. I got to see many of the live shows from 1979 on up, and they were better than imagiation alone can take you. I'd rather see Michael Anthony with them, but will settle for Wolfie this Friday in Charlottesville!......Sammy is way cool, he's just not Van Halen. Cherone should have stuck with Extreme.

Phil is right, and just about everyone else who agrees with me when i say that Van Halen was better without the red rocker in it. With all due respect to Mr. Hagar.
