Best Band Logos: No. 7

Scissor Sisters

These New York rockers scored an indie hit with their version of Pink Floyd's 'Comfortably Numb' ... and darn it if their logo doesn't look like a creature from 'The Wall.'

Actually this logo is a rip-off of an argentinian cartoonist named Quino (who is adored by millions of spanish-speaking folk outside of the U.S.) In the cartoon -circa 1978- a group of censors are cutting film with furrowed brows. One of the censors looks mortified as he imagines his scissors with babe legs. Scissor Sister's logo is the drawing in the censorīs thought bubble.

I'm sorry, but I've never seen this logo, nor have I heard of this band...am I missing out on something? Or is it acceptable to think that this is just stupid?

...is this list based on the creativity of the logo in sort of a stand alone sense, or in its iconic recognizability? i am somewhat confused as to how a logo that's been around for, i would imagine, less than five years is ranked higher than classic snob crap like the beatles' logo. ohhh wait...the arbitrary listmakers are probably being "hip" and "current". in ten years, let's see if this makes the list again.

not only is this logo merely a pair of scissors with legs, anyone could have thought of this... how is HIM so far down the list not to mention the grateful dead and metallica and this logo is number 7? i agree whoever organized this list is obviously delusional...plus who has even heard of this band honestly??

LOL!!! A band named "scissors" using a logo in the shape of "scissors!!!" Man, this one ranks right up there with the same non-creative brilliance as Phish (in the shape of a fish).

doesn't the qualification of a good band logo, good enouph to get #7 in a top 25, to be effective enouph that the majority of people flipping through this would know the band!! lol, or at least even heard of them! i see a lot of comments about not even hearing of the band, which is my case...who makes these rankings???

...probably some corporate fuck who doesnt really care about the music and how it shows emotion through composition and interpretation, but only cares about the profit he could make
