Yeah Jeff? Well,thanks to the Europeans um, "robbing" the land from the natives who rather than earned, had instead the PRIVLAGE of being natives of the north American continent, north America has become the United States of America. Now the rest of the world has a chance to come here (hopefully legally) and reap the benefits from being a citizen of the most privileged country in the world. This is of no thanks to the natives, who were happy just camping out for their entire lives or to the original slaves who were doing the same thing out in Africa and then afterwards, just following orders from their so called masters. We owe democracy US democracy to the people who were motivated and determined to get things done in the name of "something better than this". And how dare you assume that Patty is an ignorant "white" person because no one with an education refers to natives as Indians, not because its PI but because its incorrect, Indians are from India. We can ALL agree that slavery is inherently wrong, it is a barbaric and outdated practice, but never the less it was something that had been done since civilizations began going to war with each other and it is something that the Natives were also guilty of within their own culture its just that the immigrated Europeans did it on a larger and much more productive scale. Either way we have to acknowledge that our founding fathers had enough sense to want something better for themselves. Yes they exploited other less culturally developed people in order to get their final goal accomplished as efficiently as possible. But that’s how it had always been done. It doesn’t excuse the practice but guess what? We live in the united states and we are able to express our opinions over the internet and that is a good final outcome. It would have been better if we had this right without some of the means our ancestors took in getting us to this most privileged state but that just isn’t the case and in this case the ends justified the means. Racism is a tool that the stupid and lazy person will use to place judgment on others. I base my judgment on what comes out of their mouth. Patty sounds like someone who values what she has in this country and respects hard work and determination. You sound like a whinny victim of your own ineptitude, which sounds pretty close to the definition of a true racist. And not that it should matter but it does to a racist, I am NOT Arian, im just able to think for myself (u should try it).

Slavery is a part of every culture/races history.Within every race they've held slaves whether as spoils of war,for crimes or debt. The difference with the GENOCIDE of Natives and blacks is that exiled and fleeing Europeans chose an ENTIRE race/culture to ENSLAVE.They attacked an ENTIRE race of people with whom they had no conflict with other than the fact they wanted their land but could not work the land themselves so they needed LABOR. Its not enough they settled on land already inhabited by the natives but they realized they were ill-equipped to develop the land so what better people to toil the land than the people OF the land? The poor Europeans left bc of persecution (sniff*sniff*) yet they turned around and enslaved an entire race once they fled their own hellish lands? And then to show just how INHUMANE Europeans were, after they realized the Natives were dying much too quickly, unable to sustain the harsh treatment and year round slave labor...they looked for new slaves...Hence their travels that ended in AFRICA where they bartered/traded for slaves and when they got GREEDY (as they always do..) they decided to BETRAY and ENSLAVE Africans as well. HIS-STORY is not History. Its the property of those that win. Its what everyone agrees to as the truth. If you idiots want to look at todays America and deny it was built on the destruction and murder of 2 races of people that to this day still are looked upon as LESS THAN be my guest!Its nothing new bc Europeans have always thought themselves so "civilized" and have justified murder and pilaging within their own European nations for hundreds of years.Given that fact why would black and natives expect anyone of you to admit to it? Dont forget thst slavery was legal in the Middle East until the late 1960's. only pressure from western countries brought an end to slavery as an honorable business. it still goes on in most parts of the world but the gocernments have the decency to turn the other way and act shocked when its existence is pointed out to them. The english and the americans were not the worst slave holders, the dutch were. no one notices them because they just sold the slaves leaving africa to the us and english colonies but they killed millions in the congo through forced labor, hunting africans for sport and all kinds of inhumanity that believe it or not NEVER would have occurred in the antebellum south. (I make no such statemenst about the period of reconstruction and following the emancipation proclamation; white people can be jerks. no race has cornered the market on ignorant, vitriolic rage and stupidity.)
this is going to sound awful but it's true. a man that paid 300 dollars in the 1800 for a slave will NOT work him to death or starve him because that investment was meant to last. in the Congo, the dutch knew that they could just pay other tribes to trek into the jungles and bring them prisoners of war to use for slaves. you want to talk about coming late to freedom, talk to the UAE or Yemen or Saudi Arabia where slavery was a fact of life until after the second war with israel. the western countries as well as the communist regimes demanded no more slavery if these states wanted arms to kill each other with. some things sicken even jackyls. and remember most of the KKK and the aryan nation is headquartered in the Midwest; ie there is no one there to hate but other whites. i grew up in Sc in a town that was 50/50. racism was not a strong survival trait for either color.

I'm not sure why, but the necessary evil part seems to make sense to me on some level. Maybe because it's all about the balance of good and evil needed to keep the country on the right path. Afterall, America is all about being able to choose one or the other , isn't it?

The comments on this page are so the reason I removed myself years ago from associating with silly and unreasonable people, and only now surround myself with intelligent, sensible, and righteous people instead. And those folks are few and far between these days, I can assure you of that. The animal kingdom has much more potential of earning my respect than probably 85% of the general population of humans alive today. So caddy and ridiculous humans have turned out to be.

The "native americans" practiced slavery on each other, as did the black Africans, and just about every other culture in the worlds history. How did the whites subjugate the blacks? With black help.
