On slavery being necessary, Karen says, "We live in the united states and we are able to express our opinions over the internet and that is a good final outcome." I am sure that the countless number of slaves that were torn from their homes, seperated from their families to be auctioned off, and those that were brutally whipped and beaten, if they were alive today, would realize that it had not all been in vain... for Karen now has the ability to post her crappy opinions over the internet. I'm sorry, who were the "less culturally developed people?"

The fact of the matter is this nation was built on many great principles. However, EVERYONE is a racist to some degree or another. It doesn't matter what color, race or creed you are. Everyone is either raised or influenced by others with some kind of racist beliefs. Perhaps distrust of others that are unlike us is some sort of protective mechanism, I don't know. What I do know is it's not going to go away anytime soon. The reaction of this thread is proof of that....

The native american practiced slavery, as did the black africans (how do you morons think a relatively few whites got all those black slaves????). People, learn history, then attempt an intelligent comment. God...dumber than clams.

The "native americans" practiced slavery on each other, as did the black Africans, and just about every other culture in the worlds history. How did the whites subjugate the blacks? With black help. Likewise the "native americans". Man, you people who think that any one particular culture is/was morally superior to another are dumber than my dog.
