Umphrey's McGee Bust Out Rage and Get Smashing

Never at a loss for a jam, Umphrey's McGee came up big for their three-night run at the Fillmore in San Francisco this past weekend. The group encored each night with a brand new cover, busting out 'Bombtrack' (Rage Against the Machine), 'Rhinoceros' (Smashing Pumpkins) and 'It's Gonna Be a Long Night' (Ween), respectively. Each night also saw an influx of special guests make their way to the stage, including members of P-Funk (Cecil Daniels), STS9 (Dave Murphy), Tea Leaf Green (Josh Clark), Particle (Steve Molitz) and Om Trio (Ilya Stemkovsky, Brian Felix).

Umphrey's repaid their cameo debt after the final encore when drummer Kris Myers sat in with the Om Trio at their late-night gig across the street. All in all, it was a big run for this break-out band from Chicago and they pulled it off with all the fanfare you'd expect from a group that had fans fly across the country for the run.
