Pop Queen Mistaken for Hollywood Icon

Since her most recent attempt to reinvent herself – this time as a serious film director – was shot down by critics who determined her to be about as adept behind the camera as fellow conical-bra aficionado Ed Wood, Madonna seems to be in desperate need of a new career path. Well, judging by the hubbub created by memorabilia buff Lawrence Nicastro, she may have one ... as a Marilyn Monroe impersonator.

Nicastro sent chills up and down the collective spine of Monroe-philes by announcing he'd discovered a never-before-seen nudie shot of the late actress – a find that was validated by a leading expert in the realm of picking Monroe's corpse clean. Unfortunately for the two men, an Associated Press reporter with a familiarity with the pop culture of the past half century dampened the enthusiasm for a big-buck auction when he noticed that the picture in question was not a rare 1950s shot of Marilyn, but a widely available shot of Madonna used in that quaint little 'Sex' book. While the mistake may not amuse Ms. Ciccone, we'd suggest she look on the bright side – at least Nicastro didn't mistake her naked form for that of Marilyn Manson.

I definitely haven't forgotten about Madonna's
"Sex" book. Not your average "coffee table book," but certainly something that picquess your attention. Just like Madonna, herself. I think she and millions of her fans, and others know that she is not the best actress in the world, nor is she
the greatest singer... However, Madonna has the
ability to grab people's attention and watch her. She's a mysterious, interesting and intelligent woman. She deserves to be in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. She's been spitting out albums since 1983. I remember the first time I heard her.. Madonna and I are about the same age (I am 5 years
younger than Madge, but we're close in age). She is so very popular b/c she keeps re-inventing herself. She doesn't stay the same for long. she is
either shocking us or surprising us. Anyway you put it, Madonna is a huge star. Something that she always wanted to be since she was a young girl, taking dance lessons in Michigan, then finally in NYC.
