I am sure this was said either sarcasticly or with a laugh of unbelief. REM is an "international phenomenon" like them or not they have been around for decades and have more than established that, they have proven it.

Danastev. He is the lead singer for one the very first alternative rock bands called R.E.M. They are from Athens Ga., also the home state of some other very cool and very original bands (very unlike today), like the b-52's. Please learn about the history of music people because these artists are the ones who are music sampled by all of these no-talent wannabe "musicians" these days.

One of the most overrated, much ado about nothing groups ever. Listen to the music and the lyrics. There is nothing there. This guy sucks. Alternative, progressive rock???? This is middle of the road rock at its worst because of the pretention factor.
