Rock Almanac: February 23, 2008

On This Date in 2003: Paul Simon and Art Garfunkel perform together in public for the first time in 10 years, at the Grammy Awards. The duo reunite to sing 'The Sounds of Silence' and to accept a Lifetime Achievement Award.

The Almanac Advises for February 23: "If you are longing for an old flame from your long-ago past, be reassured that it's not uncommon for high-school sweethearts to rekindle their romance after years apart living separate lives. Studies have shown, though, that it is usually the dumped partner who is more eager to reconnect."
