Ha! They stated the very obivious but did not mention the real meaning behind the name "Marilyn Manson." America worships the famous. In the eyes of America, as long as you are well- known, you will receive same iconic status, whether you became well-known for doing something good or something evil. Hence the name Marilyn Manson.

Manson is sooo beautiful and intellectual. His name has some significance but it's all about what he stands for lives by. That is what truely makes Manson amazing. His name is only a minor detail to the real Legend in the Flesh

As a mother of a 15 yr. old, I have to pose the question to the parents who have become very "Americanized" in their thinking- don't believe all the stigmas put on Manson- How many of you parents have really listened to Manson's music?? In my opinion he is a very creative thinker who is able to put into music what many of you fear to really listen to because of his apperance. Get over it! How come parents can be so shallow minded? Didn't we feel the same, but fearful to consider verbalizing it? Manson challenges free thinking- not kill, hate, sufficate- that was already in this world. I appriciate art- and he is definately an artist---- doing what parents all over this country should be doing, educating our teens on current events in the world- not hiding them, being honest with our kids and what we have experienced (good/bad), and providing a forum for our teens to voice how they feel!!!! Parents- appreciate Manson if anything as a topic of discussion with you teens- go buy his album, listen to his lyrics (and the music is awsome!) and talk with your kids.. But you know what this really made me realize??? Parents are not appreciating their teens- allowing THEM to descover who they are, enjoy who they are and feel accepted on their way of discover--- none of us have discovered all there is to know about ourselves. My daughter Bria, 15yrs old, will feel and know always that I love her. Whatever she decides in life, I will encourage her to be and do her best- there are concequences to every action. I rufuse to cage her, this is an experience we will walk out together... Manson, please continue to create and challenge those who find it hard to think for themselves- adult and children!! Thank you- I have "this is the new shit" on my myspace page...lol

I find Marilyn Manson to be a fascinating pop culture figure. I hear so much about what his music supposedly does. Ive never actually heard anything by him but Im sure its not as bad as people make it out to be. I do remember seeing him on Family Guy and he came off like a normal person on there. I think people have to understand that its probaly just an act. Hes a performer, an entertainer. I think he looks like he does to get a rise out of people. Joannamay8: your comment makes a lot of sense. We need to be more open minded about things in this country.

Not a fan.
I cannot respect or appreciate someone who cannot be themselves.
Why the excessive makeup? (And before some hothead goes off about me hating makeup, please know that's not the case--makeup is about enhancing and playing up your features, not turning yourself into a rodeo clown.)
Whatever happened to real musicians just getting up there and playing?
Are there any more Kurt Cobains or Anthony Kiedises out there?
