Born: Christa PaffgenWhat's in a Name: When she was a teenage model in Europe, the German-born singer was redubbed by fashion photographer Herbert Tobias. He must have been quite taken by her beauty, as he was inspired to give her the name of his friend (and rumored ex-lover), filmmaker Nico Papatakis.

If you had ever heard of the Velvet Underground, you'd know of Nico (who was a vocalist on their early albums).

to dd: Obviously you are too young to remember the Velvet Underground (circa 1967 - 1970). Their early albums featured Nico as a vocalist fronting Lou Reed and company....
