Actually, no that's not where his nickname comes from. It stems from his style of rap. There is no father to his style. At least that's what the book says and Wu-Tang said on a song lol

Ringo Starr (born Richard Starkey,wanted a stage name that sounded like a character from a western movie), David Bowie (born David Jones so as not to be confused with Monkee David Jones), Bill Wyman ( born William Perks, who took the name Wyman from a buddy in the royal British Air force) who the hell is NICO anyway???)
