On This Date in 1963: The Four Seasons' 'Walk Like a Man' bullies it way up to No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart, where it remains for three weeks.The Almanac Advises for March 2: "A man who 'acts butch' -- adopting a swaggering walk or a low-pitched voice -- will project an air of machismo and announces himself as an ideal mate for a woman. However, such hypermasculine behavior can also be one way for a man to overcompensate for otherwise effeminate tendencies."
