Rock Almanac: March 9, 2008

On This Date in 1977: After being dropped from record label EMI after the release of just one single, the Sex Pistols sign to A&M -- who subsequently kick them off the label after less than a week.

The Almanac Advises for March 9: "The main difficulty with temporary or short-term employees is that not only do they never fully integrate into the corporate culture, they are often not respected by their peers and therefore are often considered less than trustworthy."
