Potent Quotables: Counting Blows

"I'm 43, single and I sit at home a lot. I wasn't supposed to f--- this up quite so badly."
--Adam Duritz

In addition to touting his bedroom skills, the Counting Crows frontman spoke candidly about his disappointing life to Blender.

The reason Duritz is alone and bored at 43 is because women don't want to hear a man whining all the time the way he does when he sings. If he sings like that, I'm sure he lives like that. I sure would hate to have to listen to THAT day in and day out!!!

It's about TIME he shall LEARN a hard, valuable lesson how many of us, either disability or deaf people FELT!!!!!

For the last six freaking long years I had been UNEMPLOYED (sitting at home) trying to get my life up and going.... Barely any sign of success in my life. I had to end up being on government's payroll (social security disability income).

So get used to it, You crybabies (hearing people)! Grow up and move on! We all have our share of problem in our daily lives.

Hearing people are such a WUSS! all the time (from what I've seen in them lately). Look at how terrible life hearies has treated diversity of people everyday ever SINCE Adam and Eve's period of time... Oh yea! We can top you! no expectation, discussion, etc.

We yet have to put on a fake smile maintaining our lives without breaking any aspect of laws at all pretending that everything's ok in america. HUh??? Pretending to live the american dream??? Huh??? Whoa

I'm sure you slowly RELAIZE what we are going through everyday under bunch of belt ranging anywhere from: barrier to discrimination. Hmmm

David

is that why you don't have any scheduled events in los angeles? or are you plain sick of the whole music business thing? well, i like your music then and i like it now, so move your a.. off the freaking couch and work. maybe you need to do small venues so you can regroup and focus. if therapy does not work, find a worthy cause out there; and while you're at it-Say NO to the 460 million lausd budget cut proposed by the governor. i know you live in the bay area but we need all the help we can get to get thru this freaking budget crisis...

So tell me, am I supposed to have sympathy for this rich boy loser who can do no better then whine about having the best gig in the world? Screw him! He needs a dose of reality. Let him go work a nine to five for a year or two. If he sits at home its his own fault, no one elses. And I'm sure his home is some huge house or even mansion. Gee, I'm really feeling sorry for this guy...

He looks like a damned Muppet with that ridiculous hair, and his whiny attitude doesn't help. He will not find a decent woman when that's all he's offering.

Maybe if he didn't have some stupid-assed hair-do and the ugly goatee, he might have a life outside of his house....
Yuck!

I'm *in* a relationship and I sit at home alot and have no life because of the person IN my life.. I wouldn't say being SINGLE= being home alot with no life (it was just the *opposite& for me!). At least he lived an exciting life and had the fame, success and money. Many of us never will have those opportunities.. So I can't feel too badly for him. And as long as you're breathing, it's NEVER too late to FIX your "F****d up life".
