On This Date in 1979: Gloria Gaynor's disco-era hit 'I Will Survive' boogies its way to No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart.The Almanac Advises for March 10: "The priorities for survival in a desperate situation are the following essentials: 1. finding shelter; 2. finding water; and 3. finding food. The rule of three is: Humans generally cannot survive more than three hours exposed to extreme cold, three days without water or three weeks without food."
