Heather Mills Gets $49 Million From McCartney in Divorce Settlement

Heather Mills says she is "so happy" with the almost $49 million she will get from ex-husband Paul McCartney. The settlement came today from London's High Court. Mills was all smiles as she spoke to reporters outside the courtroom, saying she was "glad it was over." She went on to blame McCartney for making details of their split public.

"I am standing here because Paul is insistent on the whole judgment being put out," she said. "I've said that if the whole judgment goes out then all the transcripts have to go out, because it's going to be written in a way that they will try and make it that I wasn't successful."

McCartney didn't have much to say to the press, other than "All will be revealed." He will have to pay Mills a lump sum of $33 million, and she will keep existing assets that total more than $15 million. McCartney himself is believed to be worth about $1.7 billion, though the judge found him to have assets totaling only about half of that.

McCartney and Mills were married for less than four years. They have a young daughter, Beatrice, for whom they maintain joint custody. Read the full story here.
