The one constant in matt pond PA so far has been Matt Pond. The Philadelphia-based singer-songwriter has been virtually a solo artist -- give or take the "PA" at the end of his name to signify his band -- and this band has been through its share of lineup changes. But backstage at the Langerado Music Festival in Florida last weekend, Pond revealed to Spinner that for his next album, the band will stay the same: It's the name that's going to change."The Dark Leaves is our moniker so far," says Pond, who appeared at Langerado still using his solo name. "It's time to give everybody else I work with their due."
The name change won't be in effect until the album comes out, and Pond says that it might be awhile before that happens. But for now, he's confident that it's his best disc yet, and the name change will signify more than just a change of attitude on his part.
