Dolly Parton to Guest Judge on 'American Idol'

'American Idol' will have a little twang next week when Dolly Parton will appear as a guest judge and mentor to the finalists. The country legend is set to coach the contestants through some of her own songs on the April 1 show, and return the next night to perform her new song, 'Jesus and Gravity,' the second single from Parton's new album, 'Backwoods Barbie.'Other celebrity judges set to appear on 'American Idol' this season include Mariah Carey, Neil Diamond and theater legend Andrew Lloyd Webber.

Well, now I have a reason to watch that stupid show again. Simon is great and Paula, but get rid of that stupid "dog" Randy. He knows nothing about music.

Actually, Randy is the judge with the most experience in the industry. Not only is he a trained musician, he is a producer as well. I'm not a big fan of his either, and I have only watched about three of the shows, but he does deserve the facts being presented.

I think it is going to be a lot of fun seeing the American Idol contestants singing Dolly Parton songs. It makes me curious as to what songs the contestants will be singing. I have found an unofficial list, however, at http://www.xomba.com/american_idol_dolly_parton_songs

Dolly's a great song writter and peformer. Simmons I usually agree with, paula is drunk most the time and Randy is just plain cool.
