On This Date in 1975: Steve Miller is arrested and charged with setting fire to the clothing and other possessions of his friend Benita DiOrio during a party at his home.The Almanac Advises for April 3: "In the light of recent tragic fires at rock venues, the following guidelines should be followed when putting on a pyrotechnics display indoors: 1) Use only licensed professional pyrotechnic companies; 2) Get all pyrotechnic effects approved by the local fire marshal; 3) Make sure working fire extinguishers are on hand."
