Eric Bachmann Cooks Up Career Retrospective on the Interface

Indie rocker Eric Bachmann has found a way to reinvent the sound he helped pioneer in the early '90s with Archers of Loaf in both his new band, Crooked Fingers, who have a new album on the horizon, and as a solo artist. It all comes full circle on the Interface as Bachmann delivers tunes from each project that's put him on the musical map.

"If I went out all the time just by myself, it would become boring," he tells Spinner of his many ventures. "If I went out all the time with a band, well ... I think that's probably why the Archers broke up because we would just go out and play the songs the same way eight years in a row."

While Bachmann may be influencing scores of younger indie rockers, he finds his own inspiration in those that came before him. "I always get choked up when I hear 'The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face' by Ewan MacColl," he says. "It's a great song. [Also], 'A Heart Needs a Home' by Richard Thompson is great."
