What's That Song in the ABC Spring Promos?

'Pocketful of Sunshine' by Natasha Bedingfield

After enduring the long, cold months of the writers strike, we're anxiously awaiting the return of our favorite prime-time television shows. ABC has started to give us a glimpse as to what we can expect from our favorite programs, including 'Grey's Anatomy,' 'Lost' and 'Ugly Betty.' And what better way to do this than by introducing a little bit of "sunshine" to get us in the mood for spring (TV, that is). ABC chose 'Pocketful of Sunshine,' from British singer-songwriter Natasha Bedingfield, to complement this season's advertising campaign.

The second single and title track from Bedingfield's sophomore North American release was co-written with producer John Shanks and songwriter Danielle Brisebois (yes, the former child star of 'All in the Family' fame). Bedingfield, in an appearance on the 'Today' show January 22, said that she composed much of her album during her year and a half stay in the United States.

The 26-year-old songstress uses her music as a way to release her emotions, telling OK!, "If I'm angry, I can write a song about it, and it seems to make everything OK." She also shares that her favorite track on the record is 'Pocketful of Sunshine,' adding, "It's about going to a familiar place when you're in that situation that you want to escape from finding a peaceful place within."

Until the return of our favorite shows, we're left waiting to see if Meredith Grey ('Grey's Anatomy') or Jack Shephard ('Lost') or Betty Suarez ('Ugly Betty') will be able to find their own happy places.
