For God's sake, he is *RIGHT*! The show is asinine, the contestants are atonal showoffs, and the judges are ridiculously pompous. I stopped watching that swill in 2005. Incidentally, Eddie is a genius and was never even close to an overdose. Pearl Jam is an important, intense and powerful band that still sells every single seat in an arena with 15,000 seats and always adds a second or third show to a particular stop. The music industry is so screwed up that you can't even hear good, fresh and NEW songs on the radio anymore; if you want to hear Pearl Jam, then turn to the Internet. Moreover, he was also right about the Grammies (it's a bunch of BS)...and, oh, he's only been around since 1991. GET REAL, PEOPLE. You need to listen to music and new talent that isn't featured on "American Idol."

That's hysterical...Eddie is such an amazing musician and Pearl Jam is by far the best live act around these days. It's funny to see these comments with people saying what has Pearl Jam done in the past ten years...my response to that is they have been making meaningful and amazing music while you have been at home watching American Idol.
