In support of 'The Clash Live: Revolution Rock,' the Don Letts-directed documentary that arrives in stores today, the film will be presented this evening in a special, one-night-only theatrical presentation in ten select cities. Compiling performances from the legendary band's first five years, the film includes rarely seen and previously unreleased footage of 'The Only Band That Mattered.'For the project, Letts -- a long-time Strummer/Jones accomplice, a one-time bandmate of Mick Jones' in Big Audio Dynamite and the Grammy-winning producer of the Clash film 'Westway to the World' -- has culled some of the band's most electric performances. Highlights, from early 1977 performances in Manchester and Munich, to television appearances on ABC's 'Fridays' and 'Tomorrow with Tom Snyder,' lead up to the explosive finale, a version of 'Career Opportunities' from the group's October 1982 performance at Shea Stadium.
'The Clash Live: Revolution Rock' can be seen at theatres in New York, San Diego, San Luis Obispo, Calif,, Indianapolis, Chicago, Santa Fe, Seattle, San Francisco and Boston. Check your local listings for times.
