On This Date in 1964: Bez, dancer and maracas player for Happy Mondays, is born Mark Berry in Salford, England.The Almanac Advises for April 18: "The percussionist in an orchestra is commonly the most musically versatile member. He must be able to master a wider variety of instruments than his fellow musicians while adapting to changing musical landscapes. Sharpness and alertness are key to good performance."
