On This Date in 1986: 'Kiss,' by Prince and the Revolution, reaches No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart. 'Manic Monday,' by the Bangles, written by Prince under the pen name Christopher, is the No. 2 single.The Almanac Advises for April 19: "The term 'noblesse oblige' refers to the responsibility that the rich and powerful has to assist those of a lower social station. For example, a person of royalty may bestow a gift upon the less fortunate common people."

And why doesn't Prince write songs like that anymore? Why doesn't ANYONE write songs like that anymore? Well, I think it's about time they have a Prince night on American Idol...Not only you have the great Prince songs like the ones he wrote for others like "Manic Monday" by the Bangles and "Nothing Compares 2U" by SInead Oconnor.
