On This Date in 1967: Elvis Presley weds Priscilla Beaulieu at the Aladdin Hotel in Las Vegas.

The Almanac Advises for May 1: "Royal protocol dictates that when a ruling king marries a woman, she is to become his queen. She would take the title of 'queen consort' rather than 'queen regnant,' i.e., a ruling queen, such as Queen Elizabeth II of the United Kingdom."
