Bad Songs by Good Bands: No. 14

'Just Can't Get Enough'
--Depeche Mode (1982)

The difference between simple and simplistic is spelled out in this electropop bauble, which couples lyrical platitudes with an incessant duh-duh-duh-dit-di-di-di-dit synthesizer riff that turns out to be Morse Code for "Save Our Song." Vince Clarke, who wrote 'Enough,' soon left the group, saying he didn't like the direction it was going in -- namely toward well-written, commercially and critically successful music.

WRONG is right! and In addition, to the Spinner people: This IS Depeche Mode's oldest and most FAVORITE song, it's almost always sung at the end of every show cause their fans LOVE IT. It's fun has a great melody. And your slight against Vince Clarke's departure is silly, are you saying that Yazoo and Erasure are not "well-written, commercially and critically successful music." ??

You guys are ridiculous not all these songs are bad!!!! Even your top twenty some of the songs on there aren't bad, just because you don't like them doesn't make them bad. I'm not a fan of lil wayne or u2 but that doesn't make them the worst ever. I guess its true opinions are like a**holes, everyone has one and they all stink! lol!

Ridicules. Being a Club DJ in the 80's - 90's, This was ALWAYS a floor packer. A great feel good song. Vince Clark was & IS still a genius, as shown by all the success he's achieved since. You need someone with a clearer sense of what's considered good or bad. You're way off on this one, along with many others on this list.

This is the same byline, "Spinner Staff," that declared Band-Aid's "Do They Know It's Christmas" the all-time worst ever Christmas Song last December.

Of course, they don't use actual names to credit these articles. Who would want to be openly recognized as having zero taste and dookie for brains?

Evidently, those are the most important qualifications to write as "Spinner Staff."

The clueless, vacant slam on the very highly regarded Vincent Clark? I'm embarrassed FOR you, Spinner. I'd keep my writers anonymous, too, if they were this moronic.

"[C]commercially and critically successful music" does NOT necessarily equal "well-written," as has been evidenced for decades at the Grammys, etc. It usually just means "POP." Vince Clarke has ALWAYS been influential and well-respected in the Synthpop scene! I wonder just why I even bother reading what Spinner says in the first place. They just seem to be pretentious hipsters who show very little depth of knowledge or appreciation for music from their years in diapers (or before).

Proof whoever wrote this article is on some seriously f-d up drugs? Inclusion of this song, along with November Rain on a worst songs list. That is all.

Yet another group of people with no real purpose using media to indocterinate the masses with their personal and useless opinions. Congratulations spinner staff you win!!!
