Bad Songs by Good Bands: No. 3

'Kokomo'
--Beach Boys (1988)

The Beach Boys set the mark for longest stretch between No. 1 hits with this goofball tune from the 'Cocktail' soundtrack, 22 years after 'Good Vibrations.' The song's vibes strive desperately for goodness, to little avail. C'mon, everybody: "Key Largo, Montego/Baby, why don't we go?" In a just world, this abomination would've singlehandedly torpedoed the entire tropical-paradise vacation industry.
