Paul McCartney may be a Sir, but Neil Young is a spider. Um, take that? Thanks to an East Carolina University biologist, Jason Bond, the legendary rocker now has the rare honor of having a spider named after him. Bond -- a devoted Young fan -- discovered a new species of arachnid and named the trapdoor spider 'Myrmekiaphila neilyoungi.' "There are rather strict rules about how you name a new species," the biologist said in a statement this weekend. "As long as these rules are followed you can give a new species just about any name you please."
"With regards to Neil Young," the ECU biologist continued, "I really enjoy his music and have had a great appreciation of him as an activist for peace and justice." The new species of spider was discovered by Bond last year in Jefferson County, Alabama.
Meanwhile, we're waiting for Lemmy to get his toad.
